I made thanksgiving dinner, because it was demanded of me. (Seriously, his exact words were “I demand thanksgiving dinner!”) Fortunately, I had all the ingredients ready and totally cheated on the turkey. I used a package of Butterball microwave turkey. Still, it was pretty good.

We buy the frozen Butterball turkey breast for Thanksgiving. You can get them with all white meat, or mostly white with some dark. No carving required (well, you gotta slice it). No fuss, no muss.

That looks pretty fantastic.
I’m sad because I bought chips and guac and didn’t notice at Target that the guac expired January 1 (thankfully I didn’t eat any).

That isn’t cheating; it’s ingenuity. Love a brown dinner. Like George Carlin said, it’s the default color when all the other ingredients give up.
We had chicken in the fridge; so, I marinaded it and made chicken fajitas with peppers and onions and Spanish rice. Always have tortillas in the pantry. Always .

I made brisket. I’m very full and happy at the moment.

It was pretty good considering it was the food equivalent of a CKD kit. The potatoes were instant and so was the stuffing, and I microwaved the corn.

I’m very picky on fat content. Brisket is hard for me to eat unless it’s absolutely perfect.

Nice part about cooking your own is you can make sure it’s the way you like it.

I think that’s underrated. Anything that minimizes work and lets you hang out with family is ok in my book.

All white meat?? That has gotta be terrible lol. Turkey white meat is so dry, even when cooked well.

I did have some Johnnie Walker Black and a few Leinenkugels to go with it. It’s definitely a pleasant evening.

+1 on the torts. You can put anything in them, even PB&J.

It's probably because I dislike gravy. So I always go dark meat. Preferably I'd rather have chicken too since it's even juicier. But turkey thighs cooked to perfection are pretty darn tastey with mashed potatoes!

Did that for lunch this afternoon, except added Nutella to the mix. My daughter and I are adamant that everything tastes better on a tortilla. We have not yet found any exception to this rule.

Made grilled cheese with a medium goat cheddar (I’m lactose intolerant yo) on rye, with dill tomato soup. I snack lots so I don’t have a heavy dinner.

Your view is a common one, and is justified. I think white meat seems so dry because people often don’t take into account the lower fat percentage compared to the dark when they cook the turkey. You can shield the breast and cook to a lower internal temperature while you leave the drums and wings uncovered. Then, it all comes out juicy. You shouldn’t need gravy if it’s done properly (but I still like gravy).

I beg to differ! It is, however, easier to manage if you put it ice cream some other similar solid support.

I'm not so sure. I'll have to do the experiment. In principle, any flavor that can be put into an ice cream will be great on a tortilla.

I had just over 3 pounds of Corned Beef today. I didn’t think I’d be hungry again until you mentioned Thanksgiving.
